My new favorite Mexican restaurant in Phoenix!! Fantastic flavors - don't skip the salsa bar! I really want to try more of their food, but I haven't been able to NOT get the Camerones Culichi dish! They have a lot of tasty beverage options as well. Love the historic interior and there's also a patio option - both are a little noisy. The wait staff does a great job keeping this busy place humming!

We enjoyed this Phoenix spot for dinner. Their specialty is enchiladas, including one with a pink sauce. We tried beef with red sauce, chicken with green sauce, and cheese with pink sauce. Chile relleno was also terrific. Good traditional margaritas and their self-serve buffet of salsas were also fun. Parking lot is small, but they had an attendant who helped us find a spot. We sat on the lovely patio. It was on the street so somewhat challenged by traffic noise. The interior is also charming.

Went for a second time this weekend just to solidify my review 😅 and, this time around, had the Jamaica(hibiscus) margarita and red snapper dish. The margarita was delicious, which I feel had maybe 80% Jamaica, 20% alcohol which to me was great and allowed me to try the passion fruit margarita(also great) without any concerns of "drinking too much". The red snapper had the right amount of seasoning and cryspiness , my only complaint was not enough meat on the fish and no tortillas on the side provided, which often time is traditionally part of the dish That aside, everything was great, from food to service all the way to my favorite, the salsa bar! The must try is the pineapple, and hibiscus salsa won't disappoint!

This place has a loaded menu of Mexican dishes that goes far beyond the basics (they serve breakfast, too). There's lots I wanted to try, but I settled on the caldo tlalpeño and grilled shrimp and grilled fish tacos. The soup was excellent -- great flavors, subtle spice, huge portion, and the chicken was super tender and juicy (it's easy to dry out chicken in soups). The tacos were pretty good and had a tasty house sauce. The fish was better than the shrimp. They also have complimentary chips, beans, and a salsa bar. The place has indoor and outdoor seating, and a very small, but super comfy bar area. Service was great and I'd be plenty happy to come back here.
